About the church.
Greet one another with a holy kiss, the churches of Christ greet you!
The Perth church of Christ follows the inspired Word of God and upholds the teachings that Christ passed on to the first century church. Christ personally established the first century church and we, as a group of believers, follow His teachings and commands.
We hope that you will join us for Sunday worship as we;
Publicly read from the Bible, seeking His guidance and encouragement (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Participate in a capella singing as a group (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 13:15; 1 Corinthians 14:15)
Offer prayers to God through Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:11; Ephesians 6:18)
Preach from God's Word (2 Timothy 4:2; Romans 10:14-15; 1 Corinthians 1:23)
Remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ during the Lord's Supper (Matthew 26:24-30; Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
Timeless Teachings in a Changing World
What is the church of Christ?
The church of Christ as we know it today is a result of the Restoration Movement undertaken at the end of the 18th Century. Tired and discouraged by the division and strife prevalent in Christianity a number of preachers decided to return to teaching only what the Scriptures teach. The church of Christ is a name, not a denomination, indicating a group of believers wearing His name. We are God's people as described in the Scriptures and so trace our establishment to the first century.
Jesus Christ Himself said,
"... on this rock I will build My church..." (Matthew 16:18)
Scott Tominey, Evangelist
Scott Tominey was born in Glasgow in 1991 and lived in Cumbernauld until moving to Perth to work with the church of Christ. He came to Christ and was baptised at the age of 18 before dedicating himself to become a Gospel preacher. He now preaches and works with youth in Perth.
